Amy has extensive experience in representing clients throughout Colorado in family law and divorce cases. Amy brings a specialized approach to clients in the mountains as she remains at the forefront in the family law practice area in Colorado. She provides input on important issues that affect family law through her appointed positions on the Colorado Supreme Court Standing Committee on Family Issues, Colorado Bar Association Executive Council, and Fifth Judicial District Access to Justice Committee.

Amy began her legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Angela Arkin in 2008, where she gained experience in complex family law litigation from the court’s perspective. Amy then joined Willoughby & Associates, a prestigious family law and estate planning firm in Denver in September 2008. Amy represented high net worth clients and gained expertise handling complex family law issues.

Amy additionally developed expertise in innovative areas in family law. Amy paved the family law legal framework in Colorado through testifying for the Colorado Senate Judiciary on the Civil Unions Act; establishing parental rights for parents not listed on the birth certificates of children; speaking to judges and attorneys about the issues related to dividing property when dissolving civil unions; and drafting a toolkit in Colorado for lawyers to encourage the offering of an a la carte model of legal representation, known as unbundled/limited scope representation.
